Commencement of Study
The RDC shall determine the date of commencement of study. For PhD and MPhil programmes, the date shall normally be the term commencement date of the Autumn or Spring term after the date of approval of the application by the RDC and after payment of all fees due. For other research postgraduate programmes involving coursework, the date of commencement of study shall normally be the term commencement date of the Autumn term.

* Year 1 refers to the year in which thesis supervision commences. Students taking up taught courses during the coursework stage of Doctoral degrees have to pay the relevant course fees separately. The above tuition fees (per annum) are indicative only and are subject to a yearly review. All fees paid will not be refunded.
Payment of Tuition Fee
The Graduate School will send reminders to students for the payment of tuition fee for their research degrees. Tuition fees will be collected on a per term basis, prior to the commencement of Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms, during which the research studies are in progress.
