Doctor of Clinical Science (DCSc)

Programme Description

The Doctor of Clinical Science programme aims to equip healthcare professionals with the advanced knowledge and skills essential for implementing evidence-based practice, translating research findings into clinical practice, tackling complex healthcare challenges, advancing their professional knowledge and development, and eventually assuming leadership roles in their respective fields.

Programme Requirements Autumn Term Intake only

  • Applicants shall possess a recognised Master’s degree in a health-related discipline, including but not limited to medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiotherapy, midwifery, dietetics, nutrition, social work, medical technology, laboratory science, genetic counselling, physician associate or health administration.
  • Applicants shall satisfy the application evaluation with (i) a statement of overall career goals and specific research interests; and (ii) an oral justification of their suitability for doctoral education.

 

A student admitted to the programme will be required to complete at least 27 credit units of coursework before proceeding with writing the DCSc thesis.

The number of student places for the programme is limited and admission is on a competitive basis. There is no credit exemption for the course work or thesis part of the programme.
