Research Postgraduate Programmes

Research and professional doctorate programmes offered by HKMU’s five Schools.

Entry Requirement

Applicants shall possess a recognised first class honours degree with demonstrated ability to pursue advanced studies; or possess a recognised Master’s degree; or be transferred from the HKMU MPhil degree.

Applicants for MPhil/PhD programmes should consult our research staff regarding their research proposal before submitting an application to the University.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

The Doctor of Philosophy is offered by the following Schools. A candidate shall complete a thesis by research under the supervision of one to two academic staff.

Wu Jieh Yee School of Arts and Social Sciences Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration School of Education and Languages School of Nursing and Health Sciences School of Science and Technology

The Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration also offers a Global PhD programme.

An applicant is expected to have discussed his/her proposed field of study with the academic staff in the relevant School before submitting a formal application.
