Research Postgraduate Programmes

Research and professional doctorate programmes offered by HKMU’s five Schools.

Doctor of Education (EdD or EdDC)

Programme Description

  1. Programme Information for New Students. This degree involves coursework (40 credits) and a thesis.
  2. The principal aim of the Doctor of Education programme is to make a significant contribution to the advanced professional and academic development of those concerned with education and allied fields, to the ultimate benefit of the wider educational community.

Programme Requirements Autumn Term Intake only

  • Applicants shall possess a recognised Master’s degree in education or a related area.

 

A student admitted to the programme will be required to complete at least 24 credit units of coursework before proceeding with writing the EdD thesis.

The number of student places for the programme is limited and admission is on a competitive basis. There is no credit exemption for the course work or thesis part of the programme.
